GO Deeper : THE STRIKE GOLD SG51xx (Classic Series)

Let's go deeper. Today, i will talk about SG51xx, a jean from The Strike Gold, which is known as Classic Series.

A Brand New Pair of SG51xx - Classic Series

This Jean has these following specifications :

• 15oz unsanforized japanese selvage denim

• Super Short Slub Weft

• Pronounced Hairiness and Slubbiness

• Pure Indigo Warp - Gray Dyed Weft

• GOLD Selvage Line

• Pure Indigo

• Deer Skin Leather Patch

• Iron Male - Copper Female Rivets

• Button Fly

• Made In Japan

Classic series is the new lines from The Strike Gold, which was released in this 2014. As other TSG Jeans, classic series has all TSG Details. Please take a look at my previous post if you forget. 

This time, they created a new fabric which has 15oz weight. This denim is insane. They start with pure indigo dyed yarns for the warp. For the weft, they used a super short cotton which is gray dyed. At weaving process, they set the tension low. This combination results a very great fabric. It has a very rich character both in warp and weft. At the warp, it's hairy and slubby. At the weft, it's crazy great (No idea what to say, please just take a look at the pictures below). Thanks to the low tension they used, the fabric is not as rigid as others The Strike Gold Jeans, it has great breathability and comfort.

This jean is simply great. If you're looking a comfortable jean as well as a next level fabric, this one is a perfect choice. I can't wait to see how this one will fade and change over time.

Note : As stated before, this is an unsanforized jean. So, please consider a shrinkage after washing / soaking. Generally, 51xx will shrink 2-3" at inseam and around 1" at waist depending the temperature of the water and the agitation level you did to the jean.
